Support the Library

The CYM Library is funded entirely by hire income and occasional charitable grants. We welcome help by means of donations of music, voluntary work, and providing or sourcing extra funding. If you can help, please get in touch with us. Thank you!

How you can support us

Thanks

. . . to Ecclesiastical Insurance for two welcome donations allowing the purchase of new music and assisting with core costs.  (This was the result of CYM Library entering and winning prizes from their lotteries)

Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation logo. . . to the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation whose grant in previous years, has helped fund the services of our professional music librarian, volunteer team and running costs.

. . . to the Finzi Friends for two grants to enable us to increase our holdings of the music of Gerald Finzi, one of the major British composers of the twentieth century.

. . . to Mr. T. Gentleman for a donation enabling us to buy a set of Dvorak Mass in D vocal scores (New Novello edition) and also to help fund our core costs.

The Radcliffe Trust logo. . . to the Radcliffe Trust for a generous grant making possible the purchase of a number of works by contemporary composers. (There is a list on the catalogue home page)

. . . to the Worshipful Company of Grocers for a grant that support our core costs and have allowed us to purchase new music.

. . . to the Wates Foundation whose generous financial support ensured the Library’s survival and also enabled it to move from Trinity College of Music to more suitable premises.

. . . to other earlier supporters: Golsoncott, Sylvia Waddilove and Idlewild Foundations for grants to enable us to renew and augment our stocks.

. . . to all choirs, orchestras and individuals who have kindly donated music to the Library.

. . . to Tony Lynes, who spent nearly 25 years ensuring the continuation of the Library after the abolition of ILEA, and who was the brains behind the move to secure the library’s future as a charitable company. Tony acted as CYM’s librarian until 2013, frequently in a voluntary capacity, and only retired as a trustee in June 2014. Sadly Tony died in October 2014 aged 85, leaving as his legacy a flourishing library that truly is a national resource and able to serve the music community throughout the United Kingdom.
