CYM Library and Covid-19: Updated 26/2/21

We are relieved to announce that we are now back to a functioning office – not quite fully, as we are still without our own phone, so please contact us only by email:   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  We are not yet able to work normal hours, so it is advisable to email us if you want to return or collect music in person. We are happy to take reservations and bookings (please give us plenty of notice), and we are always ready to help with programme planning, sourcing and any other queries you may have.

For those of you who wish to return music by post/courier, please be aware that the main library is only open for Click and Collect appointments and couriers need to be made aware that there is a notice with a telephone number for access if there are no staff at the door. We therefore ask that, regardless of the labelling requirements of the courier company, you also ensure the parcel has a large label with this wording:

Peter Smith                                        TO OBTAIN ENTRY SEE NOTICE

New additions to our stock

After successfully winning a substantial prize in a lottery run by Ecclesiastical Insurance, we have purchased Todd: Jazz Missa brevis, Goodall: The Lord is my shepherd and added copies to our set of Vierne: Messe solennelle.

With two separate, generous grants from Finzi Friends, we have been able to increase our stocks of music by Gerald Finzi. We have purchased a set of Lo, the full, final sacrifice - a festival anthem and one of Finzi's longer choral pieces.  We have also added extra copies to our existing sets of God is gone upFor St. Cecilia and Intimations of immortality.  Thank you to Finzi Friends for making this possible.

A substantial donation from Mr. T. Gentleman enabled us to purchase a set of Dvorak Mass in D vocal scores (New Novello edition).

Other recent additions include:

Vocal scores and orchestral parts: Sunrise mass: (Gjeilo): and vocal scores of the following: Eternal light (Goodall), Adiemus (Jenkins), Les Chansons de roses & O nata lux (Lauridsen), Missa Brevis (MacMillan), Shipping forecast (McDowall), Birthday madrigals, Feel the spirit & Sprig of thyme (Rutter), Mass in blue (Todd), The Collection (Whitacre), In the mood (ed. Blackwell) and Les miserables medley (Schoenberg) well as songs by Adele and Leonard Cohen. These additions to our stock has all been made possible with a grant from the Radcliffe Trust for which we are very grateful.
